Old York Tower Non-Profit Seniors Non-Profit Housing

Old York Tower is a non-profit community based organization that provides affordable housing for seniors in St. Lawrence neighbourhood, in downtown Toronto. In 1990 a group of neigbours from the St. Lawrence Neighbourhood had come together to seek a solution to a future problem of aging in place they were living. The group had a first-hand vision for the need of affordable housing in their community. Seven years later in August 1997, after the struggle of negotiations for funding and the design and the construction efforts, the building was ready for occupancy.
