The Auto Workers Community Credit Union is a full service, locally owned and controlled financial co-operative. It was founded in 1938, originally for auto workers and their families, and today has expanded its scope to include anyone living or working in the Durham Region.We offer a full range of loan, mortgage, deposit and investment options. At AWCCU your deposits are insured up to $100,000 and each (RRSP/RRIF) plan is fully insured. We currently service over 14,000 members and that number is growing by the day.We are guided by a democratically elected Board of Directors and thanks to our members we are able to invest our earning back into the credit union and into the communities we serve. A portion of our profits are also returned to the Membership in the form of dividends or interest rebates.
