THE MAIN AIMS AND OBJECTS OF UCSS ARE:To promote the interests and advance the welfare in general of Ukrainian communities in Canada by engaging in charitable activitiesTo provide social support services to individuals and families in need, and particularly to seniors and new immigrantsTo provide financial assistance to needy personsTo work together with other Ukrainian charitable organizations, as well as government and other community agencies, in delivering aid programsTo assess the needs of Ukrainian communities in Canada and initiate programs to respond to the identified social issues and needsTo encourage and promote volunteerism in the communityTo encourage and promote education in the field of social work and related disciplines.ABOUT UCSSUCSS is directed and administered by a volunteer Board of Directors and an Executive elected at the Convention. Presidents of all branches are members of the Board of Directors.The UCSS Convention is held every three years during the Ukrainian Canadian Congress.
